Photos of handmade dresses

It would have been so much nicer to just write 'handmade dresses' as a title... yes, it definitely would have... But nope. There is no way I could ever sew anything myself. For me sitting behind a sewing machine is the same as sitting behind a flight deck of an airplane - I have no idea what all these buttons mean and how I'm supposed to do everything at once (and with that said let's all hope there won't come a day when I'll be forced to learn how to drive a car... this can not possibly end well).

For me it has always been kind of magic when my mother has sat down to first cut out the pattern out of a cloth (again, an absolute mystery - how do you know what is what?? and what to sew together?? and where the leg goes??), then sat behind the sewing machine and after some loud noise and maybe a little anger towards the fabric, handed me a piece of clothing.

So, since I'm not any good for sewing myself, I decided to take photos of all the masterpieces my mother has made me for the past 5 years!

I don't have any adjustable lights so this is what my "set" looked like :)

And here's a collection of photos I made:

It was painful and really difficult to put some of these on but I hope by doing this we'll be able to appreciate them  even when I get fat and can't fit in them anymore... :)

Tiny dresser

I was inspired by this picture of a cute tiny dresser. It's made out of matchboxes (link to tutorial I saw)

So now that I have been collecting matchboxes for a year I decided to make one myself. How hard can it be, right? It's just gluing and covering the sides with paper.

So, here's what I had:
● empty matchboxes (I didn't even think they could be differently sized (and of course I  collected them for a year so they WERE a little different))
● some glitter paper, glitter, glue
● nothing to use as handles

And here's what I made:
●  a big mess (glitter, paper everywhere (cats helped a lot here))
●  nine handles made out of folded paper (this took me about two days to think of, first I searched            through all my buttons and beads unable to find anything and unable to understand how are they          going to work??)
●  a hole in my finger (from stabbing the "drawers" with scissors to put paper-handles through)
●  a blood-stain in one of the "drawers" from stabbing myself
●  many bits of dried glue that I pulled off of my fingertips
●  and well, a slightly crooked tiny dresser

The worst part was definitely making the handles, I had to wait at least 10 minutes for each piece of paper to dry and just hold it until it did, otherwise it just straightened out again :) :) But at least they are definitely not going to fall off now... I think... maybe...

About

I'm a 20+ girl from Europe and I have unfortunately been given a clumsy gene (I think my brother took all the good ones and there were no good genes left for me).
It comes to the point where I wonder how I'm still alive (thank you society) but for some reason I still continuously find myself trying to not only stay alive but also create something.
Sometimes it turns out okay, sometimes I fail horribly. Here are my attempts at making things I find online or (wrongly) assume are my genius ideas.
